Privacy Policy

Pup Pop for iOS · Developer: Patricia (Kat) Luttrell · Effective September 10, 2026 · Website section added October 3, 2026

The short version
  • These statements describe the app. This website logs visits for metrics — see “This website” below.
  • No account, no login, no sign-up. Ever.
  • Your pet photos are processed on your device. They are never uploaded, and the app never saves them.
  • No ads, no tracking, no analytics, no third-party advertising or analytics SDKs.
  • The app makes exactly one kind of internet request: an anonymous read of "The Circle" counter. It carries no identifier and nothing about you.
  • The one optional purchase is handled entirely by Apple. We never see your payment details.

Information we do not collect

Pup Pop does not collect, store, or transmit your name, email address, phone number, contacts, location, device identifiers, advertising identifiers, or usage analytics. There is no user account and no server run by us that holds anything about you.

Your photos

If you choose "use your own pup instead," Pup Pop opens Apple's photo picker. The app only ever receives the specific photos you pick — not your photo library. Each photo is processed with Apple's on-device Vision framework to lift your pet out of the background so it can appear on the tiles.

Your photos are never uploaded anywhere and are never saved by the app. They are held in memory only while Pup Pop is open and are discarded when you close the app. There is nothing to delete, because nothing is kept.

"The Circle" counter

The Circle shows a real, shared count of people who have installed Pup Pop. To do this, the app sends one anonymous request to a small public counter service, abacus.jasoncameron.dev: once on first launch to add your install to the total, and on later launches only to read the current total.

This request contains no identifier, no personal information, and nothing about you or your photos — only the request itself. Like any internet request, the service receives your device's IP address in order to send a response; Pup Pop does not receive, store, or have access to it. If the service is unreachable, the app simply shows the last count it saw and gameplay is unaffected. This is the only network connection Pup Pop makes, apart from Apple's own App Store services used for purchases.

In-app purchase

Pup Pop offers one optional, one-time purchase that unlocks the multi-photo personalization modes. The purchase is processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never receive your payment card or billing details. "Restore Purchases" (in About Pup Pop) asks Apple to confirm a purchase already tied to your Apple ID; no information is sent to us. Apple's handling of purchases is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

Data stored on your device

Pup Pop keeps a small amount of data in the app's own local storage on your device: your best score, a flag noting that your install has been counted, and the last Circle total it saw. This never leaves your device and is removed when you delete the app.

Children

Pup Pop is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, of any age.

This website

This section is about the web pages you are reading now, not the Pup Pop app. The app's behavior is exactly as described above.

When a page on this website is opened, one visit record is sent to the developer for site metrics. It contains the time, the page, the referring site, browser type, device class (mobile or desktop), language, time zone, screen size, an anonymous random identifier kept in your browser's local storage so repeat visits can be counted, and your approximate location — city, region, and country — looked up from your network address by a third-party service (geojs.io). Your network address itself is not stored in the visit record, your device's GPS is never requested, and no name, email, or account is involved. The record is delivered to a private workspace channel (Slack) that only the developer can read. It is not sold, shared, or used for advertising.

If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, nothing is logged. You can also block scripts for this site or clear this site's data in your browser to remove the identifier. The hosting provider (Amazon CloudFront) may keep standard server logs as any website host does.

Changes to this policy

If Pup Pop's behavior ever changes in a way that affects your privacy, this page will be updated and the effective date above will change.
